NL Council opens negotiations with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours on Niagara river

The Niagara-On-The-Lake council has accepted a report which recommends negotations with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours for continued use of the Melville Street dock for its popular JetBoat rides on the Niagara river. Local residents particularly those with water front property had objected to the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours because of the noise created by participants when the boats hit the rapids on the Niagara river below Niagara Falls.

In June and April Niagara-On-The-Lake residents organised as the Niagara River Coalition held pickets in front of the dock citing environmental concerns in relation to Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours and the fish and birds that inhabit the river.
